The former Fugees rapper was a no-show for his reported scheduled performance at the RNC in Tampa, Florida …

The 2012 Republican National Convention came and went last night (August 28), but there was absolutely no sign of Wyclef Jean.
Last week, it was reported that Wyclef was scheduled to perform at the RNC in Tampa, Florida, but ’Clef reportedly had a change of heart and pulled out of the scheduled performance.
The news of Wyclef performing at the RNC threw many ’Clef supporters for a loop last week and for good reason, considering that Jean was a staunch supporter of President Barack Obama’s winning campaign back in 2008.
Last year, the “Gone Till November” MC even praised Republican Sarah Palin to Women’s Wear Daily:
“I am a huge fan of Sarah Palin…’cause she’s rad,” he said. “She’s shrewd. She’s cool. Anyone should have the right to say, ‘Look I can do the job and this is what qualifies me to do the job.”
Despite the reports that Wyclef’s originally-scheduled performance at the RNC meant that he was co-signing Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, perhaps his no-show at the gala signaled that he’s still indeed a President Obama supporter.—Mark Lelinwalla
