A decade after he retired, Michael Jordan is still one of the most important people in sports.
He owns an NBA team, has his own Nike brand, and continues to make headlines whenever he says anything interesting.
When he retired, he took his legendary competitiveness off the court. Because of his business savvy, he makes more money now than most current players.
And he spends it on some spectacular things.
We reported today thatNBA great Michael Jordan finally made an honest woman of his longtime lady love, Yvette Prieto.
The announcement comes five years after Jordan split from his wife of 17 years, Juanita. The $168 million divorce settlement was one of the most expensive in history, which might explain why His Airness has been dragging his feet with Prieto.
MJ and Prieto have managed to keep a relatively low profile, despite the fact that he is one of the most recognizable athletes in the world.
Let’s take a few minutes to get to know the woman who is marrying Air Jordan, the man who never suffers from unsightly bacon neck.
Details of their relationship, particularly early on, are scarce. From what we gather, Jordan and Prieto have been together since late 2007.
Their first public appearance was an intimate dinner at Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink in Miami. Prieto dined on steak au poivre, while His Airness opted for filet of mutton snapper.
In February 2010, Prieto and Jordan were spotted at various Miami hot spots after the Super Bowl. They hit up an after-party in a brand-spanking new Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano.

The beautiful Ms. Yvette is a 31-year-old model who is
of Cuban descent, but hails from Miami, Fla.
Before landing His Airness, Prieto had a well-publicized romance
with Julio Iglesias Jr., the son of the legendary Spanish singer, Julio Iglesias.
She also reportedly filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2002.
The couple has turned up at a number of high profile events in the last couple of years, including the exclusive FABULOUS 23 Dinner hosted by Jordan Brand during the NBA All-Star Weekend in February 2010.
